BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — The Senate Committee on Education will take a look at two bills that would set up and clear the way for the proposed breakaway school district, also known as the Southeast Baton Rouge Community School District.
The State Bond Commission will also look over and approve the bond proposal that would allow the city-parish to buy the old Woman’s Hospital on Airline Highway and turn that property into the new home for the Baton Rouge Police Department.
The Senate is also looking to pass a bill that would tighten up the current law on manufacturing and possession of bombs, a timely matter in light of the Boston Marathon bombings.
