Jindal appalled by ACLU's lawsuit for the rights of sex offenders
Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The law dealing with sex offenders and social networking sites is hitting a nerve with the American Civil Liberties Union.
The ACLU says the law is too broad and could block sex offenders from using any internet at all.
The group is suing the governor and the attorney general in an attempt to block enforcement of the law until it's rewritten.
Governor jindal released a statement on the lawsuit.
"We will not comply with this request to allow convicted sex predators to use social networking sites,” said Jindal. “I will fight this with everything I have. If these people want to search the internet for new victims, they can do it somewhere else."
The governor went on to call the suit “quite disgusting”.
