The House Education committee will get a chance to discuss bills that work to delay major education legislation from the 2012 session including teacher evaluation systems. Legislators will also get a chance to approve a bill that would require every school system to implement emergency plans. Another bill looks at the possibility of offering community college classes in Livingston Parish.

Several bills about the purchase and regulation of guns will go before the House Committee on Administration of Criminal Justice. The proposed laws both tighten and allow more leniency in gun laws. One proposed law makes it necessary for the Clerk of Court to report any kind of mental health issues reported to them to the Department of Public Safety. While another would make any federal regulations on semi-automatic weapons unenforceable.

One more bill proposes the possibility of transferring the responsibility of state run hospitals to individual health districts.
