You can start voting for the October election, starting tomorrow, when early voting begins.

Any eligible registered voter can head to the polls early.

You'll need to come prepared with the things you would normally bring on election day, that includes an ID or voter affidavit.

This coming election happens to be on a big day around here, the LSU vs. Auburn game.

State election officials say early voting gives you the chance to vote and still make it to the game.

“Game day created a lot of traffic (and) a lot of issues for folks,” stated First Assistant Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin. “I suspect it’s going to be a well-attended game, so early voting gives you the opportunity to cast your ballot for your candidates of choice, and enjoy the game and not worry about getting to the polls before 8 p.m.”

You can early vote from October 8 to October 15th at the Registrar of Voters in your parish; however, they are closed on Sunday, October 9. Their hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

You can find more information on early voting here.
