BATON ROUGE,LA (NBC33) — Losing it in Louisiana contestants have completed five months of major workouts. The group gathered to see if their hard work paid off on the scale.
The orange team took the top spot this month losing 11 pounds. James Newman battled with pneumonia and had to miss workouts. Now Newman says he's going to have to work harder to get back his strength for the final fitness challenge.
"I feel like I can make up lost ground pretty good,” said Newman. “I just feel like I started over as far as my work outs go."
James Henry with the green team came in second with minus 8 pounds. Henry hit two major milestones. He now weights below 200 pounds, and he lost a total of 60 pounds.
"Now it's like where am I going 190 185 I don't know what the stopping point is now," said Henry.
Kris Cusanza with the red team lost a total of 2 pounds this month for a grand weight loss total of 45 pounds. Cusanza only has one month left to lose her initial goal of 50 pounds.
"I come to the gym, or I workout at home,” said Cusanza. “My diet is really clean. There is a certain point where you have to give not only yourself, but everything else that you could possibly give."
Rebekah Worrell with the pink team didn't gain any weight. Worrell says a new work schedule is messing up her game at the gym.
"It’s hard to get back in the grove of finding when to go work out, and you're to tired and getting sleep also," said Worrell.
Carole Walker with the blue team gained back 8 pounds from last month. She says even though she gained weight she's truly enjoyed the Losing it in Louisiana experience.
"Just to know where I came from to where I’m at now,” said Walker. “Learning what my bad habits are, my triggers. I'll get there."
Anita Katzman with the yellow team was unable to make the filming. She stepped on the scale at home and says she's lost 7 pounds.
James Newman with the orange team had the most social media votes this month.
