BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Wendy Noble with the pink team writes:
I have the most amazing family and friends! Everyone has been so supportive on my journey. I can't even believe it. I thought everyone would think I was
crazy for doing this but it's been just the opposite. I even created a Facebook
page for those who would like to follow along with my progress(www.facebook.com/WendyNobleGoPink.) Life has been a little hectic trying to work in 4 workouts a week, but I'm managing it. It's getting easier and easier to get motivated to get into the gym everyday. At first it was intimidating going in to the gym. It's something I've always wanted to do but never really had the money to do it. Also, I'm very self-conscious about my body. I didn't want to be stared at or laughed at being in the gym. Mostly everyone in there is fit and not like me. But, I don't feel that I'm being laughed at or stared at and I believe I have the best trainer ever. Joey is very creative in his workouts with me & so patient as well. I think the reality of all this has finally set in and I can't believe how blessed I am to have been chosen for this opportunity to compete in LINLA. Thanks again to my family and friends for all your support thru this journey.

In the words of my high school students “Turn down for what?” Since I started working out on a consistent basis, I have begun to utilize muscles that I never knew existed and I even have a favorite workout now: Medicine Ball Slammers! It’s easy to get motivated in the gym when you have such a great personal trainer like Jae who thoroughly explains each workout to you. In addition, when you see others around you in a place like Bally’s that are taking exercise seriously, your mindset changes and you become more determined to achieve your weight loss goals. The downside is eating right! I have had to retrain my brain into remembering that food is needed for nourishment; not just for fun or to cure my boredom. Eating healthy and drinking lots of water on a daily basis has been quite the task for me, but I done a great job staying away from cold drinks, fried foods, and sweets! No more chocolate cakes for me!
Jermarr Williams with the yellow team writes:
I've been blessed to be selected for this program. Furthermore, I've been blessed with a trainer that pushes me beyond expectations. My first week has been fulfilling and life changing! Though I have a very hectic schedule, I've learned that I must take care of myself and my trainer believes it as well! I'm on the road to a healthier life!
Nicholas Yiannopoulos with the blue team writes:
I noticed this past week that my body does not heal as quickly as it once did!! I also noticed that Bally’s is not crowded on Saturday mornings like it is on weekday evenings.
Miya Edwards with the green team writes:
Pumped: that is how I feel about the weight loss thus far. Each day is hard to keep up with what I eat and not to eat the sweet things or pasta that I want. Not wanting to waste a good workout and eating healthy foods, I actually like, keeps this green team locomotive from derailing. While I do see the end goal and where I want to be, I know I won't reach the finish line unless I take this journey one day at a time. And I am doing exactly that.
Kris Cusanza with red team writes:
Every day I am measuring out my veggies and meats. I’m packing healthy foods. I’m eating small meals all day. I work out, and am trying new things. Here’s the catch I’ve lost inches not pounds. It’s very nerve wrecking when you work as hard as you can you can’t see the results on the scale. It’s super early and weigh in is in 2 weeks. Hopefully the weight loss genie will magically take away some of this extra weight soon. So far, I am proud to say I concurred one of my gym fears. I have officially survived a season on the stair climber. It wasn’t pretty, but it was cardio! I am just glad we have such a great group of contestants that support each other. Good to feel like you’re not alone when trying to lose the weight.
