A Department of Public Safety Officer is now in jail after inappropriately touching a woman, according to the Louisiana State Police.

Port Allen Police Department gets new cars

 PAPD will now have 6 new vehicles at its disposal. Three marked cars and three unmarked cars. Many of the old vehicles were made in 1999, and haven't been reliable for some time now.

Burglar steals pills, cash from Gonzales pharmacy

Deputies are looking for the burglar who stole prescription pills and cash from a Gonzales pharmacy. Chief Tony Bacala says the suspect broke into Ralph’s Pharmacy around 3:15 a.m. on December 15, 2014.

Boil advisory issued for part of Iberville Parish

Iberville Parish Water District #3 customers located on Bayou Pigeon Road and Vaughn Road have experienced a water outage due to a broken water line. Therefore as a precaution, a boil advisory has been issued.

UPDATE: Gonzales woman arrested for cashing stolen checks

UPDATE (12/15/14): Dinea Himel turned herself into authorities late this afternoon. Himel was wanted by the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office for two counts of forgery and one count of theft.

I-12 West open near Hammond, Eastbound still closed

UPDATE (7:00 pm): All lanes are open on I-12 West at the I-12/I-55 split. The queue on I-12 West has reached approximately two miles. I-12 East remains closed at the I-12/I-55 split. Eastbound traffic is being diverted to I-55 South. The queue on I-12 East has reached approximately one mile. The Traffic Management Center will advise of any changes. (6:00 pm): I-12 East and West remains closed at the I-12/I-55 split due to an overturned 18-wheeler.
