It’s been the number one school district in the state for five years running. Now, Zachary Community Schools Superintendent Warren Drake is sharing his secrets to success with NBC33 News.

He says it’s all about the people working in the district – they expect the best and will accept nothing short of it.

"There's no silver bullet really,” says Drake. “But, we have very high expectations, and we have extremely qualified and very, very good employees, and that's probably the key right there."

Last year, ZCS took in over 2,000 applications for just 10 openings. Their teachers are some of the top paid in the state, starting at a minimum salary of $45,000.
