TRAFFIC- While the Essen Lane exit should be reopen now, it will close again tonight from 9 pm until 5 am tomorrow morning.
WEATHER- Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 89. Light south wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
LOCAL NEWS- According to numbers coming in from the EBR Coroner's Office, the number of murder investigations in the Parish is way up from last year. Two people were found shot dead in their apartment early Tuesday morning. The owner of French Quarter Daquiri's on Essen is looking for help to catch the men responsible for burglarizing the business around 3:30 in the morning on Tuesday. If you know anything about either of these cases, please call Crimestoppers at 344-STOP. After five months, the bowling tournament at the River Center has come to a close.
NATIONAL NEWS- A train with several tankers, possibly carrying sulfur, has derailed this morning near Columbus, Ohio. Also, the Republican-led House of Representatives is holding its vote to repeal President Obama's Health Care Law today.
