TRAFFIC-There will be some lane closures on I-12 this weekend. Two of three lanes on I-12 East and West from Druscilla to Millerville will be closed from 9 pm Friday to 9 am Saturday and from 9 pm Saturday to 9 am on Sunday. The closure is happening so that DOTD can work on pavement patching.

WEATHER-Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 94. Heat index values as high as 103. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

LOCAL NEWS- A 24 year old man is struggling to survive this morning after hit by a car in the 8400 block of Florida Boulevard. Baton Rouge Police say there have been no arrests in a 'shootout' on the Mississippi River Bridge yesterday afternoon. Police did question the 35 year old man but say they did not have enough probable cause to arrest him. The victim was shot five times and is listed as being in stable condition in the hospital. Local and State officials are still on a manhunt for two inmates that escaped from the Jetson Youth Detention Center. EBR Sheriff's Deputies say the two are considered a threat to the community. A second inmate in as many weeks has died at the Livingston Parish Detention Center. State Officials are moving with their plan to shut down two prisons across the State. The famous Kleinpeter cow, Sweetie Pie, had her baby around midnight on Tuesday.
