Weekend auction to include Police issued bikes

This weekend Baton Rouge Police are holding an auction that will have never before seen items. The bikes officers use to patrol areas like downtown Baton Rouge will be sold among other items this Saturday, June 25 at 9 a.m.

The Force holds these types of auctions every 18 months, but this will be the first time they're selling off police issued bikes. The retail price is around $1,500. There will be other items for sale like go-carts and scooters.

All merchandise up for bid is currently on display at Baton Rouge Police Department headquarters located at 704 Mayflower Street. Buyers are responsible for any applicable taxes or license fees. The money raised by the auction goes to the general funds for the Baton Rouge Police Department.
