Walker, LA (NBC33) — Months after being declared a city, people in Walker say they're nervous about future growth.
A growth plan approved by the Board of Alderman shows population in the city will almost double in the next 20 years.
According to estimates, almost 12,000 people could call the now small city home, which is something many that live there now say will take some getting used to.
Mayor Bobby Font says he'll have to rely heavily on state and federal money to build the roads for the city to keep growing.
