Walker reserve officers finally added to police force
Walker, La (NBC33) —
Two new reserve officers are ready to hit the street in Walker.
Officers Tracy Girlinghouse and William Lawson have been trying to become reserves for about a year. After training, the Board of Alderman wouldn't agree to add the pair to the force.
After finally getting approval earlier this week, the officers say they can't wait to get to work. Reserve officers don't cost the city any money, but they do just as much work.
In a statement, the police department says they're happy to add Girlinghouse and Lawson to the department.
