The virtual world is taking up a new physical address in New Orleans. Starting today, customers can buy and purchase smart phone apps from an actual location rather than the virtual world.

This business is the first of its kind for the state and is opening its doors for the first time today, Thursday, March 15 at 1821 Magazine Street. The hope is to relieve buyers remorse by providing a place for people to test, play, or get advice on the latest and greatest apps for Apple and Android devices.

Testing will be free of charge and the advice is free, too. With over one-million apps available on the market today, there’s certainly no short supply for inventory. However, this store feature some specialized products, too.
The store’s developers will focus on apps created by local developers based in the New Orleans area.

Local award winning app developers such as Touch Studios and PollBob will showcase their latest creations at the myPhoneApp Store.

Also, applications designed specifically for the local market will be on display, including: The sports app from PlayNOLA, the premier sports and social club in New Orleans; the Geaux Tigers LSU Football app; the Garden District Historic Mobile Tour app; the Offbeat New Orleans Mobile app; and the Election Hub app.

The saying, “there’s an app for that” is getting a little more complicated. The new app store hopes people will now say, “there’s an app for that - go test it out.”
