Officials with the East Ascension Consolidated Gravity Drainage District No. 1 announced today that Van Broussard Road will be closed to through traffic from Monday, June 11 at 8 a.m. till Thursday, June 14 at 4:30 p.m. because of culvert installation work.

Van Broussard Road extends north off of McCrory 1 Road, which is located off of Hwy. 42.

Allen Allred, supervisor with the drainage department, said residents needing access to locations north of the construction area may use Manchac Acres Road off of Hwy. 42 and continue to David Drive.

Allred said parish crews will be installing additional 48-inch culverts alongside existing box culverts at the location where Van Broussard Road crosses over the Cotton Bayou drainage lateral. Allred said the extra culverts being installed were needed to prevent the road from washing out.
