The staff at the USS KIDD will be overseeing several Fourth of July festivities this year.

Vendors will be set up by noon, with musical acts to start at 3:00 p.m. and continue for several hours.

USS KIDD Executive Director Maury Drummond says one of the most exciting events every Independence Day is the mock attack on the ship.

“We'll have the air show at 6:00 p.m. - everybody loves the air show,” said Drummond. “We will attack the ship with old WWII air crafts, and we fire the big guns (in the mock attack).”

Fireworks start in downtown Baton Rouge tomorrow night at 9:00 p.m. Drummond encourages the entire family to come out and enjoy the festivities and take a moment to remember those who fought for our freedoms this Fourth of July.
