UPDATE (02:58 a.m.): Police found a truck that crashed into Bayou Manchac which matches the description of Chris Broussard's truck. The driver's body was found inside, and the family did identify the white male as Chris Broussard, 22.

Broussard had been missing for more than 36 hours after attending a party at Bogie's Bar and Grill near LSU.

Investigators believed the truck, a champagne-colored Nissan pickup, was headed southbound on Highway 30 near the Iberville/Ascension line when it hit a guardrail, went airborne, and landed in the bayou. Even with traffic on the highway, it took a helicopter from the Baton Rouge Police Department to spot the truck.

"(The) vehicle was pretty much covered with high grasses," St. Gabriel Police Chief Kevin Ambeau said. "Cars passing by couldn't see it. Baton Rouge air support happened to find the vehicle around about 6:40 this evening and notified local law enforcement."

No passengers were inside the truck at the time of the crash. Ambeau said the driver was wearing his seatbelt. Toxicology tests were ordered, but there is no indication whether he was or was not intoxicated when he died.
