UPDATE: Authorities find missing woman alive in wooded area

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA — UPDATE: Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards reports that Emmie Patterson, 64, was located alive and well shortly after noon on Monday, April 9. We're told she was spotted by a concerned citizen as she was walking out of a wooded area near East Park Ave.
ORIGINAL STORY: A 64-year-old woman has gone missing in Tangipahoa Parish.
Emmie Patterson was last seen yesterday morning by her neighbors on the 17400 block of East Park Avenue in Hammond.
She was last seen wearing a light blue shirt, navy pants and brown sandals.
Ms. Patterson is a severe diabetic and is mentally challenged. Ms. Patterson is also missing her right thumb. By now, she would be in dire need of her medications.
