The UL-Lafayette Jazz Ensemble will be featured in “Jazz Cabaret at ACA” at 7:30 p.m. May 3 at Acadiana Center for the Arts. The event features table seating, food and drinks, Big Band Jazz and dancing.

The night will be a magical one with a ballroom style setting and tunes from the past and the present.

The band will perform Big Band classics by the likes of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, AND Dizzy Gillespie. They will also feature some grooving Latin tunes and standards, as well as modern charts from Univ. of North Texas, and even a selection by Radiohead.

“This year’s Jazz Cabaret will be a spectacular upgrade from years past as we collaborate with the Acadiana Center for the Arts,” says band director Bill Hochkeppel. “It’s very similar to a basement jazz club in a city like New York or Chicago.

Table seating is available for $20 or $30, with gallery seating FREE to UL students, faculty and staff.

For tickets and information, call ACA at 233-7060.
