Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — The Zion City Neighborhood Association and the SE Mackey Center are getting facelifts.
It's all part of building improvements made possible by a $2 million grant from the Greenwell Springs Airline Economic Development District.
The group has awarded five neighborhood association grants since it was started back in 2007.
Robert Allman is the facility director at the SE Mackey Center. He says the grant is vital, so that people have a great place to workout.
"It's for people to have a place to workout and support the mind, body and the spirit,” stated Allman.
The group was originally created to provide economic activity and employment opportunities for north Baton Rouge.
