Turner Industries is working to enroll area children into the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library for children from birth to 5-years-old who live in Geismar.

Imagination Library is a nationwide, early learning program started by Dolly Parton. United Ways have partnered with Imagination Library to help spread the program throughout the country. It has been brought to the Greater Baton Rouge area by Capital Area United Way.

Turner has agreed to fund the program for the children of the Geismar community, and is looking forward to bringing the program in other areas where we work.

An age-appropriate book can be mailed to a child’s house each month for a year. Through Turner Industries’ donation, each Geismar child (0-5) who registers will receive a book in the mail every month for 12 months.

Imagination Library registration for this year will take place at the Geismar Community Center today from 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Children will continue to have an opportunity to register throughout the year by visiting the Geismar Community Center for a registration form. The Geismar Community Center is located at 12060 Highway 73, Geismar, LA 70734.
