BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Louisiana State Police took over Blue Bayou Sunday for their Troop A day.
Dozens of families came out to talk with troopers and other local law enforcement officials about how to keep their kids safe. There was tons of high tech toys to show the kids from watch towers to cars. Families also got free child id cars.
Parents say it was a great way to get kids to learn to talk to law enforcement officers and still have a good time.
"We just came for a good time and to support and see how officers work and protect us," said event goer and mother of two Maria Lee.
One of the biggest hits at Troop A day was a seat belt safety demonstrator that showed kids how important it is to always wear a seat belt.
