Baton Rouge, LA (NBC33) - — Baton Rouge Police say a woman was taken to the hospital after her SUV was hit by a train.

It happened just before 8:00 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 14 at the intersection of Plank and Choctaw. Police say a woman was on the tracks, and didn't get off the tracks as the train got closer.

Police say the woman has to be taken to the hospital with moderate / severe injuries. A male passenger, and three kids inside the car weren't hurt.

BRPD says they're looking into why the SUV was on the tracks, and didn't move.
