A 24-year-old man died this afternoon after he crashed his motorcycle into the back of a pickup truck.

The Lafayette Police Department reports that the crash occurred shortly before noon on Wednesday, Jan. 24. We’re told two motorcycles were traveling down Ambassador Caffery Parkway when they approached the overpass. Traffic was at a complete stop and the motorcycle being driven by Christopher Clement, Jr. of Lake Authur, was unable to stop in time.

Officials say the motorcycle crashed into a gray F 150 pickup truck that was stopped in the right lane. We’re told the other rider managed to lay his motorcycle down to stop. He was reportedly uninjured.

This crash is still under investigation.
