Bayou Corne, La (NBC33) — The Office of Conservation and Texas Brine have quit fighting to help get Bayou Corne residents back home faster.
The state revised its December 7 order to drill deep wells. Now, Texas Brine must complete new 3D seismic monitor tests for the area surrounding the failed brine cavern by April 21.
From there, scientists will analyze that data. Experts say they don't know how long that will take.
The main goal of the test is to figure out what's going on with natural gas under the surface; the test will also look at the stability of the salt dome.
