Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office looking for reserve deputies

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards announces that the sheriff's office is currently recruiting qualified individuals interested in serving their community as Reserve Deputy. Applications may be competed in the either the Hammond or Amite offices.

To qualify for the reserve unit, applicants must be 21 years of age, have good moral character, be a high school graduate and have no criminal record. The selection process also includes medical and psychological exams and a thorough background investigation.

TPSO Reserve Deputies receive the same number of education hours and course materials as full time deputies.

The deadline for accepting applications is December 31, 2012.

The Amite substation is located at 313 East Oak Street in Amite, and the Hammond substation is located at 15475 Club Deluxe Road in Hammond.
