Baton Rouge hotels can't wait for the big game to arrive in New Orleans in just a couple of weeks. That’s because thousands of fans are going to need a place to stay and when the Crescent City runs out of room they'll be making their way to the Capital City to find a place to stay.

"I know that New Orleans is packed. We're starting to see that a lot of people are coming in for the game and choosing to stay in Baton Rouge.

In all about 150,000 people are expected to come to Louisiana because of the Super Bowl. And they won't be shy about opening up their pocketbooks. They're expected to shell out close to $500 million.

"It brings people who are interested in having a good time. Their entertainment dollar is a little bit larger for a Super Bowl than it would be for another event," states Willis.

But after handling fans for big football games like the LSU-Alabama L’Auberge Director of Marketing Bubba Willis expects L'Auberge to be able to handle the load. They're already feeling the effects though. More than 80% of their rooms are already booked for the Super Bowl. And it's a similar story for the rest of the 10,000 hotel rooms in the Capital City. But Willis says if you want to grab one of those last rooms in Baton Rouge the time is now.

"Right before the weekend gets here we'll be in an oversold situation. So, for anyone interested now is the time to grab those last few rooms," states Willis.
