A portion of Stanford Avenue – from Perkins Road to Hyacinth Avenue- will be completely closed today beginning at 7:00 p.m. and will re-open Thursday morning, May 30, at 8:00 a.m.

This closure is needed to allow the contractor to perform necessary sewer repair on an existing sewer line as part of the Stanford Ave.- Morning Glory Rd. Comprehensive Rehabilitation Project, which is scheduled for completion by June 2013.

The project is part of the East Baton Rouge City-Parish Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) Program. The SSO Program will reduce sanitary sewer overflows, protect the environment, and allow the City-Parish to meet Federal Consent Decree requirements and Clean Water Act regulations.

It will be necessary for travelers along Stanford Avenue to detour using Hyacinth Ave. to Lee Dr. to Perkins Rd.

A map showing the detour route has been included below. Please note that no permitted loads will be allowed through the construction zone.
