Baton Rouge, La (FOX44) — Saturday Santa and his elves stopped by St. Vincent De Paul to give kids Christmas presents.

Needy folks got to the dining room early Saturday. And with a line stretching around the block, kids were wondering what Santa would bring them for Christmas.

This year's Santa was Bishop Robert Muench, he's only been giving gifts at St. Vincent De Paul for a few years, but he's happy to share the spirit of giving.

"When they are presented with a gift it's not just the gift, it's the sign that they are recognized, cared for, and loved. the gift is a symbol of that, and the children instictively recognize that," said Bishop Muench
