St. Landry Parish detective to defend 4 gold medals at U.S.Police and Fire Competitions

St. Landry Parish, La — St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Detective Anthony Robert III will be defending his 4 U.S. titles in track and field at the United States Police and Fire Competitions.
In 2012, Det. Robert ran the 100 meter hurdles, 400 meter inter-hurdles, 400 meter relay and 1600 meter relay. He took home 2 gold medals in the hurdles and 2 gold medals in the relay events. This event was made up of deputy sheriffs, police officers, and fire fighters from around the United States.
In August 2013, Det. Robert will travel to Belfast, Northern Ireland for the 2013 World Police and Fire Games. He is also a former two time world champion in the 110m hurdles, master, (age 45-49).
Det. Anthony Robert said, “I am training hard for the two events, but this year will be my last time on the world stage. I will retire as a U.S. and world champion in the hurdles.”
Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz said, “Detective Robert is not only a well trained athlete, but he is a tremendous asset to the Criminal Investigations Division as well.”
