Free to Learn (formerly known as ScholarWise) is a $100,000 Education Giveaway that can be used for any school, any student, at any time during your child’s, or your very own scholastic journey. This first of its kind giveaway brings together students and families, schools, and Special Olympics Louisiana in a mutually beneficial $100,000 Education Giveaway. The $100,000 can be used for any education-related expenses. Tickets are $100 each and the drawing will be in July 2012.

Free to Learn is more than just a giveaway; it’s a movement that changes lives –turning dreams into reality. Yes, it’s a bold statement, but the power of purchasing one ticket can do just that. By purchasing a ticket, people not only give themselves and/or their child a chance to win an education of a lifetime but are contributing a generous donation to Special Olympics Louisiana which in turn, provides countless opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities to compete when they otherwise couldn’t.

State Police Colonel Mike Edmonson says, “I believe in Special Olympics Louisiana and challenge you to support their mission by purchasing your ticket today.” Mike Michot of Lafayette purchased a ticket and won $100,000 last year. “Everyone who appreciates the value of education today is struggling with the cost of education. I saw this as a great way to secure a chance to win a generous $100,000 education while helping out our schools and supporting Special Olympics Louisiana. It’s really a win for all of us,” Michot says.

This program, which debuted two years ago under the name ScholarWise, was the first of its kind to bring together schools, students, families, and a deserving nonprofit organization for mutual benefit. Learners of all ages have the opportunity to win the FREE TO LEARN $100,000 that can be used for any qualified educational expense – including repayment of student loans. Beneficiary Special Olympics Louisiana enjoys rewarding Louisiana students while increasing community awareness and growing its own contributions. While the $100,000 award is substantial, the real prize that comes from purchasing a ticket is seeing the smile on the face of a Special Olympics athlete when a medal is placed over their head.

Tickets are $100 and are limited; they may be purchased on www.befreetolearn.com, by mail or by phone at 1-800-345-6644.
