The Southern campus is still mourning the loss of a former coach.

Thomas Hall, 40, was killed early Sunday morning near Baker.

Hall, known as "Zeus" on campus was known for motivating student athletes on campus for more than ten years.

Nancy Marshall is the head softball coach at Southern, and worked closely with Zeus for years.

She says coaching wasn't always about sports to him.

"He tried to always get them to see the bright side of life, and it wasn't all about sports with him, it was teaching and showing these young girls, young guys about the ways of life." Southern Head Softball Coach, Nancy Marshall, said.
