BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) — Southern University graduates are looking for a way to stay in the Capital City, and Chancellor James Llorens wants to help in that effort.
Southern has strong relationships with big companies like ExxonMobil and DOW Chemical, but not every student gets a degree in those fields, that's why Llorens wants to provide more in-state opportunities for every student.
So, he's teaming up with career services and other staff to get this effort in motion.
“We certainly want to establish a better relationship with local and state corporations, and let them know that we have students that are certainly interested in remaining in Louisiana that would love the opportunity to do so," stated Llorens.
The Chancellor tells us businesses can contact him directly or call Southern's Career Services center for more information.
