Single vehicle crash in St. Mary Parish claims two lives

St. Mary Parish, La — A single vehicle crash on LA Highway 182 at Sun Road claimed the lives of two men on March 19.
According to investigating Troopers, at 11:44 p.m., Bryan Mitchell, 25, of Houma, was driving an SUV west on LA Highway 182. For unknown reasons Mitchell drove off the right side of the road, entered a ditch, and his vehicle overturned and struck a utility pole.
Mitchell, who was restrained, and Tyronne Gray, 40, of Thibodeaux, who was not wearing a seat belt, were pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Mary Parish Coroner.
A third occupant in the vehicle, Anna Collette, 33, of Franklin, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to the hospital. Troopers are still working to determine if she was restrained.
It is unknown if impairment was a factor in the crash; however, toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
