Gonzales, La (NBC33) — The Gonzales City Council approved a one percent sales tax for shoppers at the Tanger Outlet Mall.

The money raised from that tax gets split between Tanger and the city.

A spokesman for Tanger Outlet Mall says the money will go towards renovating buildings and adding new retail space.

Gonzales Mayor Barney Arceneaux says money from the sales tax will go towards fixing up roads near the outlet mall.
