Senator Broome to host back to school extravaganza

Baton Rouge, La — District 15 State Senator Sharon Weston Broome, District 29 State Representative Regina Ashford Barrow and District 5 Councilwoman Ronnie Edwards will host a back-to-school extravaganza Saturday, August 4.
The extravaganza is a special event to inform parents and students of educational resources available in the community and will be held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Interdenominational Faith Assembly Church at 5045 Greenwell Street, Baton Rouge.
Students and families will have the opportunity to visit educational resource exhibits and enjoy a variety of games and entertainment. A limited number of free school supplies will be available, along with door prizes and free food.
The event is free and open to students and families throughout the community. It is sponsored by the following community partners: Urban Restoration Enhancement Corporation, Children's Defense Fund, Georgia Pacific, Coca Cola, CH2M Hill, Cleco and Southern Recycling.
