Lafayette, La (NBC33) — 600 new jobs are coming to Lafayette. Today, Governor Bobby Jindal announced the Schumacher group will soon expand its facility.

New employees will have an average salary of $62,500 with benefits.

The company manages emergency medicine services for hospitals and currently has contracts with about 180 hospitals in 24 states.

The expansion is expected to be complete in 2014.
