Road closed in East Feliciana due to overturned 18-wheeler

THIS IS AN NBC33 NEWS UPDATE: The road was cleared around 1:30 in the afternoon on Monday, Nov. 28. No crude oil was leaked and the area has been cleared.

ORIGINAL STORY: An 18-wheeler with crude oil flipped overnight in East Feliciana Parish. The road will be closed most of the day.

Louisiana State Police are working the accident. They say no other vehicle was involved in the accident, but the road will remain closed while the work to turn the vehicle upright.

Officials explain that no material leaked from the tank due to the accident, so there is no possibility of contamination. However, the contents of the truck must removed before it can be placed upright, which is the cause of the delay and road closure.

Hopefully the driver is OK. Does anyone know the reason for the accident? Seems the driver was on a 2 lane road with no reason to have caused this.
