Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — While U.S. lawmakers keep telling us our economy is failing, local economies powered by local markets are looking up.
At the Red Stick Farmer's Market, local butchers, bakers and farmers bring first rate products to sell at low prices.
These products help maintain our Downtown Baton Rouge Economy.
Annabel Servat is a local baker that is out at the farmer's market every weekend, and she says it's not just because she enjoys it.
"The economy in baton rouge has not suffered as much from everything i've heard, and one of the reasons this area has not is i think because of the market. because it is consistent, it's every week, it doesn't matter how cold or hot it is, we're gonna be here." - said Servat, a local baker
