Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Today, the Department of Public Works continued debris clean up in East Baton Rouge Parish, spending most of the day once in the 70805 and 70815 zip codes.
Cleanup started there yesterday. Crews are picking up tree limbs, small bushes, and other storm debris from yards in those zip codes.
Crews are expected to move on to other parts of the parish in the next day or so, including the 70817, 70808, 70811 70807 zip codes.
NBC33 has been told they plan to wrap up all the debris pickup in about 45 days.
Here are some guidelines you need to know in advance about debris disposal:
Residents need to pile the debris they want removed on the curb, not the street
Avoid putting the debris near mailboxes or under low wires
Cut large trees and branches down to a manageable size – around ten feet.
