Police use mock crash to teach local students valuable lessons

Louisiana State Police staged an mock auto accident at St. Amant High School today to educate students.

Police say they used the demonstration to teach students the dangers of texting while driving and drunk driving.

Police used actors to simulate victims of the crash and utilized a speaker system so that students could clearly hear their reactions. They also used sirens, emergency vehicles, and even a hearse.

Local residents and business owners received a notice, reminding them that this was a drill.
