BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) — The sale of more than 200 seized and abandoned bicycles, lawnmowers and four-wheelers raised almost $16,000 on Saturday. The money will go into the City-Parishes General Fund .
It's money that is necessary says Don Stone of the Baton Rouge Police Department. "The money is badly needed, and to have this much money raised at this particular function is a big help for the City-Parish General Fund."
The B.R.P.D. has auctions of seized and abaondoned vehicles once every 18 months.
