Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Huge pink flamingos in the LSU Lakes can mean only one thing - it's time for Spanish Town Mardi Gras!
The flock shows up every year just before the Spanish Town Krewes get on their floats and ride through the streets of Baton Rouge's oldest and most historic neighborhood.
No one knows how flamingos get there, but it's been an annual tradition for decades!
The Spanish Town Mardi Gras Parade starts at noon this Saturday.
