Pennington Balloon Championship back in Baton Rouge
BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) — The 2011 Pennington Hot Air Balloon Championships kicks of Friday morning, and Thursday, we got a sneak peek. Coca Cola Pilot, Robert Ambeau, took NBC33 up for a sunrise flight. He is looking forward to competing against the 41 other balloons that have traveled to the capitol city for the event. And he says there’s plenty of fun for crowds on the ground too.
Ambeau says not to miss the sunset balloon glow Friday and Saturday nights. Organizers have also doubled the size of the children’s village this year and are bringing back fireworks after dark.
Parking and admissions is free – be sure to bring a folding chair or blanket. You can buy food and drinks at the event.
