In Jefferson Parish, tar balls are still washing up near Elmer’s Island off the Louisiana coast after Hurricane Isaac. Several samples of the oil are on the way to LSU’s School of Coast of Environmental Science.   Officials at the school say the tar balls are not a big surprise. It's thought they're from the British Petroleum oil spill in 20-10, but officials say it’s too soon to know for sure.

In East Baton Rouge Parish, a national organization headquartered in Baton Rouge says it’s already busy with fraudulent claims stemming from Hurricane Isaac. The National Center for Disaster Fraud says they've already had more than two dozen calls reporting suspected fraud.  The agency is led by U.S. Attorney Don Cazayoux. The office has dealt with tens of thousands of complains since Hurricane Katrina. Many of those complaints have allowed officials to get money tout of the hands of people just looking to cash in and into the hands of the real victims of storm damage.
