Baton Rouge (NBC 33) — In Lafayette, the Journey concert that was scheduled for tonight had to be cancelled.
Organizers say the group's lead singer, Arnel Pineda is under doctor's orders not to perform for the next month. That's why the concert that was set to happen won't be rescheduled. Refunds will be given. Iif you ordered them on the phone or online, you'll get an automatic refund. If not, you can get your refund where you bought your ticket.
In Orleans Parish, there’s new information in a health scare on board a passenger jet. Passengers aboard an arriving airplane at Louis Armstrong International Airport were quarantined in response to that 'medical emergency' yesterday. Officals say only one person was taken to the hospital for symptoms. Earlier reports said two people had been complaining of vomiting and other symptoms. When the plane landed, all 146 passengers and six crew members were quarantined. The plane was cleaned and took off about 90 minutes after it landed. There's still no word on what the illness may have been.
In Assumption Parish, another community meeting has been set to update people in and near Bayou Corne on the sinkhole situation. It'll be Tuesday, October 23rd at the St. Joseph the Worker Church Hall in Pierre Part. This is the latest in a string of meetings updating residents on what's happening at the site. Today, Texas Brine, the company responsible for the sinkhole, continued to debris out of that sinkhole that has grown to four acres. Skimming also continued at the site.
