In East Baton Rouge Parish, there’s a lot of concern over a new residential development north of Hoo Shoo Too Road. The East Baton Rouge Metro Council unanimously approved the move Wednesday night. It calls for 90 upscale units in a gated community. But people who live there now say they are worried about increased traffic, noise, and safety problems that might be compounded by the new development. The city parish just completed a study after several traffic crashes along that same stretch of Hoo Shoo Too.
In Natchitoches Parish, Police in the city of Natchitoches are busy trying to determine whether or not human remains found last weekend could possibly point to another murder in the usually quiet city. They have had two already this year. Police were recently called out to the Stop and Shop Grocery store, where the owner had discovered human remains inside a boat house next door. All police will confirm right now is that the body is that of an unidentified male. Investigators believe he had been dead for several months. The cause of death is still under investigation. Police say while it is possible the man died from natural causes, they are treating the case as a homicide for the time being. They say it is standard procedure for the department.
