Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Livingston – Police are still looking for an escapee in Denham Springs. Police say this man, Matthew Maxwell, 29, was going from Baton Rouge General to a mental facility in Boglausa. We're told Maxwell got out of the van at a red light. Police spent hours looking for him, but couldn't find Maxwell. He's thought to be a danger to himself, and is officially listed as missing.
East Baton Rouge - Baton Rouge has a new fire department six. There was a ribbon cut on station six earlier today. The new fire station on the five thousand block of Greenwell Springs Road. It replaces the station on Gus Young. That place was built in the 1950s! Chief Ed Smith says it's the first of several new stations opening. Later this year station 13 on Sharp Road is set to open.
St Mary - A 25 year old locked up and accused of having a list of dangerous drugs. Deputies say Doan Nguyen had synthetic marijuana, and bath salts. We're told he was $24,000 of synthetic weed, and was ready to sell it. They made the find at Nguyen's store, which was close to a recreational park and church. Tonight's he's charged with possession with intent to distribute, and violating a drug free zone.
