Iberville - One person is dead tonight after an early morning shooting in Plaquemine. It happened just before five this morning at the Relax Inn. Iberville parish deputies tell NBC33 news the victim was shot when he answered a knock at the door. The suspect is still on the loose tonight. No word on a reason behind the shooting.

Tangipahoa - A Loranger man is locked up on a list of sex charges involving a minor. 43 year old Michael Dufrene is charged with sexual battery, intentional exposure of the aids virus, and aggravated rape. That after deputies say he was buying drugs and alcohol for minors in exchange for sexual favors. It's thought to have happened earlier this month. Deputies say more charges could be filed.

East Baton Rouge - Southern University's board of supervisors have voted in Southern's newest athletic director. Dr. William Broussard voted for unanimously today. He replaced Greg Lafleur who was fired after being arrested for soliciting a prostitute. He was cleared of those charges. Broussard's first day on the job is Monday.
