ASCENSION- The Rock Church in Gonzales is hoping to help a family with their new ministry called Redeemed Home Make Over. Jennifer Shaddinger is a member of the church who is widowed with five children. The family lives in a delapidated trailer and is in desperate need of more suitable housing. Shaddinger and her late husband's first home burned to the ground. The church has been set up The Rock Church Redeemed Home Make-over account in Capital One Bank to accept tax deductible donations for the project.

LIVINGSTON- Ferrara Fire Apparatus in Holden gets another big order from the Houston Fire Department. HFD currently operates nearly 70 Ferrara fire and rescue trucks. Houston has now ordered 6 more custom rescue pumpers. Ferrara President and CEO Chris Ferrara says the base of their business will always be suburban and rural fire departments but they are excited to have a long term relationship with such a major metropolitan fire department like Houston.

ST. BERNARD-The Louisiana Crawfish Festival is underway in St. Bernard Parish. crawfish dishes , music and other activities take place this weekend in Chalmette.The Louisiana Crawfish Festival and The Second Harvest Food Bank are teaming up to have a canned food drive at the festival. The first 25 people each day who bring in 20 or more cans of food get a free session arm band.
